To err on the side of caution, the musician-turned-politician partially accepts responsibility, explaining that he failed to brief Bobi Wine about the ‘yellow’ cash, which was distributed to musicians through investment Saccos. The legislator maintains that he consistently lobbied for the government funds, expressing contentment when President Sevo eventually heeded the plea and released the funds for musicians.

Regrettably, Hilderman acknowledges his inability to advise Bobi Wine on this crucial matter, emphasizing that he was delegated as the minister to represent the music industry. He urges against blaming Bobi Wine, asserting that the money is intended for artists as a whole. In an interview with a local television station, he stated, “So, don’t blame the principal, blame Kiyanga. I am not guilty of not updating him about how the money was allocated. So the money is not for Eddy Kenzo or a particular group of people; it’s for the artists. As a Shadow Minister of Arts, I have been asking the government to invest in the industry.
