Honorable Aisha Kabanda, the National Unity Platform’s representative for Butambala district, offered a detailed analysis of the Muhoozi Kainerugaba Movement’s (MK Movement) evolution into the Patriotic League of Uganda. Speaking in a televised interview, Kabanda dissected the motivations behind this rebranding, characterizing the MK Movement as an offshoot of the ruling NRM party’s efforts to engage the youth.

Drawing from her prior affiliation with the NRM, Kabanda highlighted the party’s acknowledgment of its declining appeal among the youth demographic. She suggested that elevating Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s profile was a strategic move to address this issue. However, Kabanda expressed doubts about Muhoozi’s ability to authentically represent youth interests.
