The legislative council in Yei River County has resumed work after a three-year closure, with leaders outlining key priorities for the county.

Council chairperson Claudios Milla said land demarcation disputes remain a major source of conflict among communities.

He also pointed to environmental concerns such as unauthorized tree cutting and delays in government budgeting processes.

Leaders believe the reopening of the council will strengthen local governance and help address these challenges through new legislation.
