Fildausi Namulema, a center player for the National Insurance Corporation (NIC) netball club, has been named May’s top netball player. Namulema’s exceptional play earned her the Fortebet Real Stars award, standing out among competitors Rachael Nanyonga and Christine Namulumba of Prisons. Namulema was crucial in NIC’s victory at the 2024 East African Netball Championship in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. She was also honored as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament, where NIC won all eight matches to secure their 22nd East African title.
Shadia Nabirye: Football Sensation
Shadia Nabirye from Kawempe Muslim Secondary School has been recognized as the best football player for May. Nabirye’s influential performance was key in her team winning a bronze medal at the CAF African Schools Championship in Zanzibar. Her outstanding performance, including scoring three goals to become the tournament’s top scorer, earned her the accolade over strong competitors like Vipers’ captain Milton Karisa and Emmanuel Ajo of Busoga United.
Malcom Okello: Rugby Excellence
Malcom Okello of Platinum Credit Heathens has been honored as May’s best rugby player. Okello’s stellar performances on the field earned him this top recognition, surpassing competitors Emily Lekuru and Ivan Magomu.
